I have an English, BS degree in Creative Writing and American Literature, an Elementary Education degree (Certified Birth to 6th grade), and a Master's Degree in Reading, Curriculum and Instruction.
Experience
I am currently an English teacher for middle school students, and have over 11 years of teaching experience from preschool to 7th grade. I am able to diagnose reading problems, and develop reading strategies for individual needs. I work with students on study skills and behaviors on a regular basis. I have worked with autistic students and special needs students. I have also worked with English Language Learners from several countries. I have previously taught 4th grade, all subjects. I have been involved with several technology grants in my current position, and know how to use several programs to enhance learning experiences.
