Education2nd year student at UMKC School of Pharmacy at the MU campus. I completed 3 years undergraduate majoring in Spanish and Biology at the University of Missouri, with a GPA 3.66
ExperienceIn high school, I scored a 32 on the ACT and graduated saluditorian in my class of 670. I was the editor-in-chief of my high school yearbook and received the NSPA Pacemaker Award for my book (top 15 yearbooks in the nation). I have been working very hard to prepare myself for pharmacy school while in college, keeping a high GPA and taking part in many extracurricular activities such as Gamma Phi Beta sorority and four academic fraternities, and many volunteer opportunities as well. I have kept up on many of the subjects I have studied while preparing to take the PCAT before my admittance to pharmacy school. I would like to be a tutor to further review these subjects, and I definitely want to help any student in need! I have taken 5 years of Spanish courses in high school and 6 semesters in college, after testing out of 12 credit hours of Spanish courses. I also studied abroad in Alicante, Spain for 6 weeks in 2012. There, I greatly increased my Spanish proficiency by living with a host family and communicating entirely in Spanish. This past August, i returned from a 9 week service learning internship in Lima, Peru where I also lived with a host family and was completely immersed in the Spanish language and Peruvian culture. I recently received A+ grades in both College Physics and Human Anatomy, both of which come very easily to me. I would really like to share my passion for science, math and language with any student who may have similar interests!
HobbiesAlthough I do work hard in school, I definitely make time for myself as well! I am very creative and love spending my free time doing crafts, scrapbooking, and photographing. I am also very social, which is one reason I love being involved in organizations on campus. I find communication to be a very important aspect in succeeding academically, so I definitely feel that my outgoing personality contributes to my tutoring ability, as well as my success so far in pharmacy school.
