Jessica D.
Private tutor in Columbia, MO
Education
Sophomore other major at the University of Missouri-Columbia
Experience
I have tutored my younger brother all of his life in various subjects ranging from simple math to editing papers. I received a 29 on my ACT but did not take the SAT. I've taken two AP classes but was not able to take the AP tests. The majority of my other classes were honors. I'd like to be a tutor because I have always enjoyed helping people, whether it's my family, friends, or even a classmate. My strengths are kindness, patience, and a strong ability to teach subjects in effective ways. I also have creative studying/organizational skills. My mother has had a day care my entire life, so I've been raised in a learning environment. In high school, I took up to French IV/V, so I know the basics of the language at least. I took AP Psychology in high school and also Intro to Psych Honors this past semester receiving A's in both (I plan to minor in psychology, so I will be taking more as my college career ensues). I am a Journalism major, so I excel in writing and editing. I took AP Statistics in high school and Stat 1200 my freshman year in college, receiving A's in both. I have been on the School of Journalism's Dean's List every semester since I've been attending Mizzou. I worked at the University of Missouri's Student Success Center for a year, so I was surrounded by tutors every day of the week.
